You are invited to Kings Meadows High School on Friday 1st May for a professional learning opportunity focused on fire safety, demonstrations, and practicals. This event has been organised by members of the Tasmanian Association of Laboratory Managers.

Program:
9:00am: Sign in at front office, then meet in B28
9:30am: Tour of Science facilities – Lab Technicians Zak Howard and Mariam Shimmari
9:45am: Discussions on gas system rules
10.15am: Morning tea provided and catered by LiveEat, please notify us of any dietary requiremnts.
10:30am: Alkaline earth metals [demo] – Lab Technicians Zak Howard and Mariam Shimmari
11:00am: Iron and sulfur [hands-on] – Lab Technician, Zak Howard
11:30am: Fire tornadoes and flame tests [demo] – Lab Technician, Mark Nowakowski
12:00pm: Iodine clock made cheap and easy [demo] – Head of Science, Robert Johns
12:30pm: Lunch on campus ( own provided )
1:30pm: Thermite: Value, danger, rules, setup – Lab Tech Zak Howard and Teacher Mathew Battle
2:00pm: Thermite: One on one training – Lab Technician, Zak Howard
3:30pm: Off-site by 3:30pm
